This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Prem Suvarna (Frederika R. Schreutelkamp). It is "Exhibit A-1295" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has 2 pages.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I, the undersigned, am Frederika R. Schreutelkamp. By profession I am a biologist. I was born October 23, 1944 in Amsterdam, Holland, and have the Dutch nationality.

I studied at the universities of Amsterdam and Brussels and received a Masters Degree in Natural Sciences. For six years I have been working at the Free University of Brussels as a research associate in genetics and molecular biology.

I have always had a deep interest in physics, cosmology and ecology, and from 1976 on I have been actively involved in the environmental movement in Holland.

In 1980 in came in contact with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh through a friend.

I was seized immediately by the incredible understanding of natural sciences He gave proof of. For me, His understanding went beyond that which I had learned at universities, and my personal experience was as if pieces of a jigsaw-puzzle suddenly fell together.

In 1981 I became a disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, which has been highly important for my personal life. I feel that Bhagwan is an exceptional religious leader.

I have visited Rajneeshpuram - the headquarters of Rajneeshee religion -and have experienced this community as most advanced, considering the up-to-date technology used and the extent to which people are living together in harmony with each other and with nature.
