This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch.  Dr. med. Mario Mander to whom it may concern My name is Dr. Mario Mander and I am a physician since 1971. I am Italian and have been living from my childhood on in Germany, working there for the last five years as a emergency doctor at the Red Cross. Before that time I was working for seven years in several hospitals of the Heidelberg University (4 years surgery, 2 years inner medicine , 1 year pediatrics). From the end of my medicine studies 1970 I was discontent with the medical care in Germany. I missed all the time something in the treatment of patients, but at this time I couldn’t recognize what it was. It was love what was missing, love for the patients, love for my family and love for myself. So I started a very straight, engagement in politics, especially working for a social changement, hoping that a changement in the medical care system will happen. I hoped that a total change of social structure would create a new men, full of love, totally in his work and an authentic human beeing. At the 1979 there was a deep dissatisfaction in my politcal work and also in my professional work as an emergency doctor. There was a crisis in my relationship to my wife and my two childrens In summer 1980 I was connected by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, friends brought me to him. It was a totally change in my life, it was a reborn. I opened myself completely. The change happens on two levels, on the conscious intelligence level, the other level was emotional, my heart was opened, overfloating with love. This overfloating love was for all people, who where around me. Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is a catalytic agent for the only really healing force which is love. And he is the only human beeing on earth now, who is able to provoke love in human beeings. In my very hard work as an emergency doctor I am now fullfillcd with love and awareness. Patints or the relatives of them phone or write to me in great thankfulness of helping. All the time when I am called to a heavy accident I feel deeply a nonexplaining force is leading me. So when I am working I am filled with calme and awareness. Offering this to the people who are often near death, including the best emergency care, surviving happens. My family life is very ordinary but full of life. Apart my heavy work I am living a happy family life. In contact to other medical hospitals in the district of Heidelberg University, I recognized that Bhagwan’s techniques of meditations and therapy forms are more and more successfully used. [signed] |
