This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Marion Fayer del Re. It is "Exhibit A-477" in the Noles collection.

To whom it may concern

When I heard that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh had come to the United States for medical help, I thought that he couldn't have chosen a more appropriate country. I myself fell in love with the United States more than thirty years ago, when I came to this country to enroll as a junior student at the University of Texas, being sponsored by the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs. Before I left for Brazil, Governor Allan Shivers made me an Honorary Citizen of the State of Texas.

Back in Brazil I taught education at the Methodist College (Colegio Bennett Rio de Janeiro) until it was time for me to raise my own family. As soon as my four sons reached their teens, I went back to the University to receive my B.A. in languages, and my diploma for translator and interpreter. Being fluent in five languages, it was only natural that my work would enroll me in that field, but at the same time I realized that the teaching and learning methods available were totally inappropriate.

Then I came across Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’s lectures, and a totally new perspective opened for me as how to tap into the resources of our minds, how to approach the student, and help him use his potential.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has been the greatest inspiration for me, not only as a spiritual guide, but also as the greatest pedagogue and psychologist of our time. As soon as I received my teacher's training at LLI (Lozanov Learning Institute) in Silver Springs, Maryland, and at LIND (Language in New Dimensions) in San Francisco, I went back to Brazil and I have been giving suggestopedic English language courses ever since, and delivering lectures at the First International Symposium of Accelerative Learning in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and in schools and institutions.

Coming to Rajneeshpuram for the Second World Festival I was overwhelmed by the atmosphere of love and spiritual aliveness that permeated every person that came into Bhagwan's presence.

He is truly an Enlightened Master whose voice is being heard even in the farthest corners of my home country, Brazil. I consider myself fortunate to be living at this historical moment, when a human being of his caliber is walking on this earth.
