This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Maureen Yeomans. It is "Exhibit A-1292" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Human Potential Resources
Maureen Yeomans, 35 Station Road, Hendon, London NW4. Telephone 01-202 4941
20th July, 1983.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I have had an involvement in the humanistic psychology movement in the United Kingdom since 1969 and have been working in the field since 1971. From 1977 until the present, I have been the editor of ’’Human Potential Resources” and, as part of that job, have been responsible for bringing top leaders in the field (psychologists, doctors and other experts) to lead training workshops for professionals (social workers, teachers, etc.) and for the general public.

Whilst I am not personally a follower of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, I have seen the very positive influence he has had upon the lives of those people who are his followers and who are working in the same field as I am. In particular, I can definitely state that the Rajneesh organization in Britain is one of the most professionally organized of the many I am in contact with. The people there are friendly, helpful, know what they are doing and have established a reputation for doing what they say they will do. To my mind the qualities I have mentioned are too rarely found in one organization within the field of humanistic psychology and almost never outside that field.
