This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch.  Mr Motohiko Fuma To whom it may concern, I, Motohiko Fuma was born on the 2nd of December 1943 in Aichi, Japan and graduated from Asahigaoka High School. I left the Depertment of Literature of Waseda University halfway and went to Paris University to study modern literature. After coming back to Japan, I had been working as a TV scenario writer and a film critic. In 1977, I received the Chu-o Koron's new figure prize ( literature prize sponsored by representative publisher, Chu-o Koron-sha in Japan since 1956 ). So far, I have written " Pilgrimage in India ", "A tower and a flower " ( published by Japan Publishers ) ; " Mugen " ( published by Chu-o Koron-sha ); " Heartful trip - India " ( published by CBS SONY ). I knew Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh during my second trip to India in 1972, since I have been interested in Him, as a modern exceptional awakened one. Especially with His conception in which modern philosophy, Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism are brought together freely, I have always felt a deep sympathy and understanding of this. Many of my friends and acquaintances have become sannyasins which are His deciples, and they are sincere, loving, thoufhtful and responsible people. It is more than an accident. So I feel regret that he is not allowed to stay in your country, in opposition to many people's will and hope in many countries, including Japan. I cannot dought that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is a person of peace and love As a writer in Japan, which is one of the eastern countries interested in eternal peace of human beings and the world.
