Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

Zürich, 20th of July 1983

To whom it may concern,

My name is Peter Egloff. I am a musician and teacher of music. I studied at Conservatory of Zurich and Winterthur. Experience for years in teaching classical guitar to children and adults gave me the impression, that not only the ability and the knowledge of a artist is important, but much more the deepness of his inner experience.

I was teaching and giving concerts for many years and was although not satisfied, because I had the feeling, that allways something was missing. Success could not make me happy, although I was looking for it so long.

Therfore and also for pedagogical reasons I decided to do a psychoanalysis and therapie and I found out, that nobody and nothing could make me content without finding the ground of my inner beeing and the sense of my life.

I found out, that it is not so relevant, what I am actually doing, than who I am, when I am doing it, that means in which kind of spirit.

I'd never have come to this solution, without finding a new way of self experience which has been meditation. Searching for this, I came across the teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. His understanding and his love for the western and eastern spirit was tremendously helpful for me, that I decided to become one of his diciples.

He gave me back the trust in my inner capability. He could unite all the opposites in my mind and inner being.

The way of my music playing and also the way of my teaching changed completly and became more creative, succesful and satisfactory. The relationship to my students became deeper and more trustful.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is really a extraordinary personality and a unic spiritual teacher. Many of my colleagues and friends have read some or several of his over 300 publications. Even if he is no more speaking now, his books speak for him and his silence says even more than ever could have been said, to those, who are far-sighted couragios and sensitive enough to get in contact with this myterios fact.

Any of my friends, not only desiples agree, that it would be a loss for the United States of America to deny a permanent residence permit to a man of his capability.

America was allways well-known for his tolerance and openness against every innovative and progressive trend. I can't believe, not even immagine, that a country, which was allways open for intelligent people can deny his residence. America gave domicile to men like Albert Einstein. How can it refuse and say no to Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh?!

I hope that you, who are responsible for this matter, may think over this case and you may come to a fair decision.
