This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Suzette van Hauen. It is "Exhibit A-296" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To whom it may concern,

As a naturopath trained in California I have come to know Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh through my contact with therapists and doctors within alternative medicine. I have visited the meditation centers Geetam in California and Sambhodi in Boston and participated in many courses during the last three years. I have been greatly inspired personnally as well as in my work both by the courses and by Bhagwan's books, and not least by the high standard of those sanyasins working within the alternative therapies.

Living and working in Copenhagen I have a close contact with the Rajneesh center here and I refer many of my clients to therapists working there.

Lecturing and participating in conferences in the U.S.A, as well as in England I meet many outstanding people within the fields of science and arts, and it is my feeling that Bhagwan and his disciples have been a source of inspiration to many of them.

Bhagwan's contribution to mankind will be an asset to any community and country in which he may wish to settle as a teacher and spiritual leader.

Sincerely,
[signed]
