This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch.  Sw. Anand Batohi, TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN To introduce myself: I am an electronics engineer from Munich, West Germany, who made his Dipl. lng. - degree at the Technische Universitat there in 1973. It's also there that I carried out 2 years of research work on voice recognition systems, as part of a West Federal Government project. The following years I took part in another West German top RSD project: the Magnetic Levitation High Speed Train System. I joined in at the very beginning, was with it when the first test vehicle reached a speed of more than 400 km/h and finally worked in the team that run the first operational magnetic levitation at the Hamburg International Transport Exposition in 1979, where more than 30,000 people were able to have that really futuristic ride. It was also at Hamburg that I met people who called themselves disciples of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. This Man seemed to be of a quite different quality than I ever met before. Throughout His books I read, He makes no attempt to convince, no attempt to propagate his opinions -he writes science, it reads like poetry - and there, everything in life seemed to fit togher. I became very much attracted, went to India, and became a disciple myself. After several years of disciplehood, while working in my profession, things became more and more clear to me and at the same time really easy. So if we call a genius somebody who gives simple statements which turn out to be a tremendous effect, which just put the full stop behind dozens of basic questions of human life - se we have to call Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh a genius. So while he has won admirers and friends all over the world by His teachings, he is also amidst this central Oregon experiment in communal living which simply shows that His teachings are realistic and suitable for day-to-day life. His inspiration is such that everything fits together: the housing, road-building, providing food, the money, the music ... as far as technology is concerned: I have never seen such a massive use of machines at one spot with all the adverse effects being taken care of. Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh's work has proved to be immensely valuable for the whole field I am concerned with, from the very root of fundamental physics, up to the products we build and sell and give to people to use. Through this invaluable example of a miniature society at Rajneeshpuram, the whole society can be benefited, gaps will disappear, people will become more unanimous, technology and ecology will no longer be enemies, joy of life and caring for our needs will become possible simultaneously.
