This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I, the undersigned, am Hellmut Wolf. I was born in Karlsruhe, West-Germany, 15-07-1957, and am living in 5400 Koblenz, Dahlienweg 4, West-Germany.

My education is wide-spread in different directions. Since I finished high school in 1977 I studied at the University of Cologne: German literature, philosophy and theatre/filmscience, to become a doctor of philosophy.

I was trained in videofilming and taught videocourses at the University of Cologne for two years and worked in different filmteams and in theaters. Besides that I worked with many different bands as a musician.

The connection of music and philosophy brought me in contact with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, about whom I first heard through pressinformation, later books and tapes.

Bhagwans teachings were immediately very important for me as they widened my horizon in terms of religious understanding.

In 1980 I became a disciple of Bhagwan, which ever since has been highly important for my life. Bhagwan's teachings, verbal and, as is especially for me as musician very important, nonverbal, are surely highly beneficial for mankind.
