This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Anand Vasudeva (Dr. Kroll). It is "Exhibit A-1042" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. To Whom it may concern

e.g. support of Baghwan Shree Rajneeshes visa petition as a person with exceptional abilities as a spiritual and religious leader.

My name is Sw. Anand Vasudeva. I was born in Germany in 1950, 32 years old, and I am holding a medical degree since 1977.

I know Baghwan Shree since 1978, when I first visited his ashram in Poona. I became his disciple one week after I first met him and I had close contact with Him and other disciples of His all over the World ever since.

There is no doubt, that he is a rare person, who is able to make a step besides the whole culture and intellectual, philosophical and religious understanding of this; 20th century and look at it from a totally different angle and shine a new light on it: the light of the enlightened one, of one who has no interest, no part in it, only pure understanding, the light of love and wisdom.

He is not only a person talking about his vision, he also has a capability in many different ways, to touch people, to transform them and help them to experience the light, the love and awareness themselves.

In a recent article in a german magazine " the Stern", which was quite positive otherwise, they wrote:
For 500$ they could see their spiritual master in the morning for an hour and driving by in the afternoon for a few seconds. Nothing much more was offered."

But after meeting Baghwan for a few seconds each, a crowd of 15,000 people is deeply touched, peaceful, Joyous and fulfilled, a similar experience is sought by many through concerts, theater, opera, sports and nature, but very few reach, and nowhere can it be found in such perfection as with the contact with Baghwan Shree. The divine, the beauty, the love is concentrated in him and he opens you up to become capable of experiencing it. What more can you expect from a spiritual leader and isn't exceptional too.

Baghwan's vision has influenced my work in the medical field too. Western medicine has made tremendous progress in scientific and technical fields, but it lacks so much love and respect for the person. The body can be treated, but man is not only a body, he is a person, has a soul and a heart too. Western medicine wants to treat only the body and refuses to deal with the rest; so everybody is afraid to enter those superhospitals with super perfection. Treatment is for the body - healing is for the whole person. Since I had contact with Baghwan Shree, my patients are persons and my relationship to them is much more loving, respectful and caring. I turned from a medical technician into a healer.

I think, America should be happy to have such a human being and I strongly request, you allow Him to stay there and allow Him to deliver His gift to mankind.

Sincerely
