This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Anand Yogi (Erik Möller). It is "Exhibit A-1147" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

ANAND SAGAR
c/o Ma Prem Latifa
Trondheim 19/7- 1983

My name is Sw.Anand Yogi(Erik Möller). I’m 29 years old and working as a teacher in the city of Trondheim,Norway.

After finishing high school here I went to study microbiology at. The University of Tennessee, USA, and received my Bachelor Degree in 1976.

On returning from my studies I started teaching in a junior high school here in Trondheim, and working a lot with problem youth on my spare time.

I first heard of the Indian Master Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh from my brother studying in Germany. In 1978 he sent me a taped discourse which made a very deep impression in my heart. I felt I had to know more of this man. Throuhg the next 2-3 years I explored and experienced Bhagwan by attending noumerous meditation-and therapi groups, and in 1981 I became his diciple.

I accept Bhagwan as a true spiritual leader. To me he is no less than a modern Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha- he is making religion alive, joyful, celebrating. He not only speaks about peace and love- he is peace and love.

With love,
