This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society.  dauscher GMBH TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: This is to state and explain what the influence was, that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh had on my life. I have, been an international businessman for many years running my own shoe import and export firm. I have known my trade for years and yet the transformation I have gone through tn the presence and through the teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, have added a totally new dimension to my life and to my work. I first came into contact with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh by reading one of his books. Shortly after this initial contact I went to India to experience him and his energyfield personally. I have never met a more outstanding and exceptional person in my life. Such intelligence, such charisma, I was overwhelmed. In his daily discourses he spelled out many things in such clear and simple words, I just learned so much especially in my field of business, where dealing with people is essential, I learned a tremendous amount from Bhagwan. I started meditating and sitting in his presence and my whole life changed dramatically. Coming back to my business after a few months in Bhagwan's presence, I realized that the way to be in my work had changed too. A new sensitivity to people was there, a new creativity and courage to take risks, which I had not experienced before. My business started to improve by the day and my personal happiness and tranquility started transpiring into my professional life as well. This process has continued up to the present day and being here with Bhagwan for a longer period of time, sitting in silence with him, seeing him daily on his ride, enriches my life and gives me a tremendous energy daily. I am glad Bhagwan is in a country where he can be healthy and accessable for the world, so his religion and meditation can spread and be available to the whole of humanity.
