This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Prem Amido (Christoph Radlmair). It is "Exhibit A-115" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Rajneeshpuram, Or.
September 11, 1983

When I took sannyas on 27 March 1981 in Munich, I didn’t know any sannyasins and only knew Bhagwan from reading his books and saw one discourse on film. But through his meditations I felt how He sent me His infinite love. Although He had never spoken to me, He showed me new dimensions of meditation and awareness.

Due to my severe physical handicap (it is necessary for me to use a wheel chair and require constant assistance) it took me over ar. year more to put my first journey to Oregon into realization, and to see Bhagwan on September 6, 1982 for the first time. He surprised me by letting me see Him in the garden, 5 days later on September 11. It was a very beautiful experience. He radiated (and radiates) so much goodness and peace, more than I have ever experienced amongst any person. (But I must say, I’ve never met another enlightened master!) When He put His hands on me and put a hat on me, there was only joy left inside me. The whole of existence seemed to bless me. I experience this again and again when He drives past me.

On June 25, 1983 I came to Rajneeshpuram again with a companion. The next day, when He drove past me for the first time, Bhagwan waved at me, and on the following day He stopped and gave me a small Buddha statue.

I feel again and again how He cares for all of His sannyasins and helps us through His presence and love to become more aware, to accept our lives and to celebrate them in harmony with others.
