This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Prem Gunjan (Wolfgang Boronowsky). It is "Exhibit A-116" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

PREM GUNJAN
(Wolfgang Boronowsky)

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Bhagwan is an exceptional religious teacher. And there is no need for him to talk. Everything has been said. If I want to hear him talking about a certain subject I just listen to the right tape which gives me more than just an answer. It gives me energy, it gives me courage to go further forward on my spiritual path. Even though I have never experienced Bhagwan speaking in discourse (I took sannyas on October 6, 1982 in Oregon) I don't miss it at all.

When he drives by daily and our eyes just meet for less than a second, I feel blessed, I feel enriched, and again and again he seems to say "I love you. You're perfect as you are... beautiful. Love yourself..." These few minutes of a day when I see him are so precious, are of such a tremendous religious value to me that nothing else is needed. Words would hardly have a similar "power".

Moveover, I can feel his presence everywhere.

In these days, I take care of Swami Prem Amido, a handicapped sannyasin in a wheelchair. He has a very strong connection to Bhagwan and often I can feel our Master through him. On our second day in Rajneeshpuram (6/27/83) Bhagwan stopped at Amido while I was standing behind him. Bhagwan opened the window of the car and passed Amido a small Buddha statue.

That was of tremendous beauty to see my Master so close.

Amido was blessed. Me too, because it doesn't make a difference to whom he gives his blessings. If he blesses somebody, it feels as if he blesses all of us.

Bhagwan is much more than just an exceptional religious teacher.

Love,
