This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Satprakash (Sgarbossa Roberto). It is "Exhibit A-1346" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I was brought up in an upper class family.

Since my childhood I have been through many experiences in different fields. After a while it was clear to me that my main attitude was towards art, particularly history of art, painting, pottery, photography, theatre. As soon as I finished the High School, I went to the University of Architecture. I studied for three years in the Urbanistic Section. In the same period my sister introduced me to Bhagwan through the reading of some of his books. After two weeks I left to Poona. There for two years I’ve been through many courses of inner growth and meditation. When I came back to Italy I started again painting with a new conception of the reality joining a group of post-modern art. Definitely being close to such a master modified very deeply my approach to reality. It is very clear that Bhagwan's influence improved enormously my vision of the psychic and metaphysic reality. To come and see my master even for few weeks and to participate to the celebration, gives me every time new impulse to continue and improve on my figurative and aesthetic work.

I’m positive that for a country like U.S.A to have such a living master as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, is an enormous privilege and a great possibility to find a space of inner harmony so difficult to find nowadays, even if everybody need it, and I think that this country should not miss the unique opportunity to host such an enlightened being and his positive energy.
