This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Vedant Uwe (Dr. Uwe Rieke). It is "Exhibit A-1280" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Dear Sirs,

i am a master in Natural Science, specialised in Electron Microscopy. I contributed eight publications to International Congresses about scattering of electrons in bulk samples and the consequences on the resolution limits in Scanning Electron Microscopy and Electron Beam Lithography.

In Electron Microscopy you penetrate the mystery how nature works or, in other words, how god works in nature: Science and religion meet ! (See e.g. F. Capra, The Tao of Physics, 1975 or P. Davies, Other Worlds, J.M. Dent & Sons Ltd., London).

This precisely is the work of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh: He unites modern science and religion. And this is why i became, two years ago, a disciple of this man, who is not only a person of exceptional abilities but a true sage.

But he is not a man of theories, in Rajneeshpuram his vision is put into reality: I am the second time visiting Rajneeshpuram for the festival and it is very beautiful to see the flowering and immense growing of this commune. There are the most modern technologies helping to live in harmony with nature and there is the greatest living religious teacher spreading his love and his beauty.
