This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Teresa A. Booze. It is "Exhibit A-400" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I am a graduate of the University of Arizona, Certificate Program in Nurse Midwifery, class of 1981. I had a position as nurse midwife at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, East Boston, M.A., associate with Beth Israel Hospital as a site for births. Previous to this I worked as a registered nurse in labor and delivery for four years, working closely with laboring mothers and families. Much of the work I do involves counselling, caring for and emotionally supporting women and their significant support persons.

Since being introduced to Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, through video tapes, audiotapes, books and friends, my ability to be open and available to others has blossomed. Through His religious teachings and meditation techniques my awareness and problem solving abilities have increased to afford competent, safe, midwifery care. Specifically, Bhagwan’s discourses on health, birth, motherhood and relationships have aided me in guiding families through different pregnancies, labors and births.

Of all the traditional support and counselling methods taught during both nursing and midwifery training, none have touched me as the religious teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and allowed my personal growth to expand in order to better serve my clients.

Most sincerely,
[signed]
Teresa A. Booze CNM
