This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ursel-Renata Krüsi. It is "Exhibit A-47" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original.

The original letter, written in German, appears first, followed by its English translation. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file with the whole original letter, the translation and a notary statement attesting to the validity of the translation. It has 4 pages.

(The Depth-Psychology of C.G.Dung)

I, Ursel-Renate Krusi-Czternasty, was born in Germany where I spent my years at the university and passed the examinations. My main subject was Protestant theology, together with German philosophy, paedagogics and philosophy.

After my exam I worked as a teacher at the Ecole d’Humanite of Paul Geheeb in Switzerland, one of the leading educationalists in the fields of co-education. After a break of eight years (marriage and motherhood) I took up my studies again.

Through my studing theology, it had become impossible for me to find this kind of religion any longer significant (a religion without authentical experience, governed by the head and having people yield to absurd dogma); so I now tried to approach the center of man with the help of psychology (the depth-psychology of C.G. Jung).

After three years' studies at the C.G. Jung-Institute in Zurich and Psychiatry (University of Zurich) and after five years of my own analysis I started to work as an analyst.

Now, after fifteen years of practice and laboriously achieving small success in transforming man regarding his inner healing, Bhagwan has become my spiritual guide par excellence. Why? Because I recognize as a psychologist that the approach of his 'third kind of psychology' is simply ingenious. It is, however, based by Bhagwan on the so-called 'first psychology' (the psychology of the sick man) founded by Freud, as well as on the 'second psychology' (the psychology of the healthy man: Maslow, Fromm, Janov and others), but leads further to the 'psychology of transcendence' or 'psychology of existence,' or 'no-mind psychology' or 'psychology of the Buddhas,' as described in Bhagwan’s lectures (cf. Sannyas Magazine 4/1976).

It is a psychology that downright concerns the original destination of man, transcending the whole system of "sick and "healthy" and thereby creating a space where only a Master is able to work by means of his totally now awakened consciousness, which cannot be intellectually grasped by anybody unless one awakens in it congenially. To wake up in this sense, Bhagwan is helping us by his presence as a catalytic agent - in other words, by his mastership or by his completely purified being.

As a psychologist, I have to recognize today that only a Master can be a true psycho-therapist.

I wish from the depth of my heart that Bhagwan can find a new home in Rajneeshpuram, to enjoy the shelter of an exemplary country representing human dignity and freedom, so that many more people may profit from the blissful therapy of this extraordinary “therapist.”
