This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Willy Ranson. It is "Exhibit A-1038" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.

Dear Sirs,

Since several years I have been living nextdoor to the Rajneesh Meditation Centre Vadan in Leuven Belgium. Though I am not a Sannyasin I have always had a very friendly relationship with these people and have always been interested in their master Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

Lately I heard that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has been denied a permanent visum to stay in the United States. This seems very curious to me, and I really wonder how such an attitude is possible in the case of a person as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

I am a civil engineer and worked at the Catholic University of Leuven as an assistant in a research program for some years. Lateron I studied Relational and Sexual Sciences at the same university and am now working in that field.

Bhagwan has always been a remarkable person to me. His teachings reveal a new vision on mankind and are of great value for a lot of people seeking the inner truth.

Living close to the disciples of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, it has struck me how open, creative and energetic these people are and how they pull an enormous strength and positivity out of their relationship with their Master.

For me Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is an exceptional being certainly worthy to live in the United States and undoubtedly of extreme value for the people of the United States.

Yours faithfully,
Willy Ranson
