Undated Letter written to Anandmayee 005

This is one of hundreds of letters Osho wrote to Ma Anandmayee, then known as Madan Kunwar Parakh. It is undated, written on his personal letterhead stationery of the day: The top left corner reads: Rajneesh / Darshan Vibhag (Philosophy Dept) / Mahakoshal Mahavidhalaya (Mahakoshal University). The top right reads: Nivas (Home) / Yogesh Bhavan, Napiertown / Jabalpur (M.P.). Many likely earlier letters on this letterhead have had the number 115 added in by hand before "Yogesh Bhavan" to complete his address; this does not.

This letter does not have Osho's usual salutation, "प्रिय मां", Priya Maan, Dear Mom. It is a PS to a possibly missing other letter, headed with the word "पुनश्च", punashch, "Postscript", followed by two sections, the first addressed to "श्री पारख जी", Shree Parakh Ji, Anandmayee's husband, and the second unknown but similar to one of those addressed in the Letter written on 1 Mar 1961 am.

Finally, the letter lacks most of the marks found on most earlier letters, except that it does have a small group of pale blue, non-circled marks in the middle left part of the letter whose meaning and import is not clear.

This letter has been published, in Bhavna Ke Bhojpatron Par Osho (भावना के भोजपत्रों पर ओशो) on p 88 (2002 Diamond edition).

रजनीश दर्शन विभाग महाकोशल महाविद्यालय निवास: योगेश भवन, नेपियरटाउन जबलपुर (म. प्र.) पुनश्च:, श्री पारख जी को – आपका कृपा पत्र मिला। बहुत अनुग्रहीत हूँ। कितना अच्छा होता कि आपके साथ राजस्थान चल सकता! पर उन दिनों मेरी छुट्टियां नहीं हैं। मध्यप्रदेश में कॉलेज १ मई से बंद होते हैं इस कारण इस बार तो साथ चलना नहीं हो सकेगा। कोई और सुयोग ढूंढ़ना होगा। आपका स्वास्थ्य अब कैसा है? मैं आशा करता हूँ कि अबतक आप मद्रास से घर आगए होंगे और स्वस्थ होंगे। मेरे विनम्र प्रणाम स्वीकार करें। चि. पदम्‌ को – तेरा पत्र मिला था। उत्तर मैं दे ही नहीं पाया और अब इतनी देर होगई है कि क्या उत्तर दूँ यही समझ में नहीं आया है! नारज मत होना और पत्र देना। मां की नाक का बजन कम कर दिया है यह जानकर बहुत प्रसन्न हूँ। एक बात के लिए जरूर तुझे डांटना है – मां अस्वस्थ थीं और उन्होंने खबर नहीं दी तो न सही – तुझे तो खबर देनी थी। मां को – (१) पचमढ़ी के लिए आप लिखीं वह ठीक है। मैं १ मई से छुट्टी पाउँगा। उसके बाद मई और जून फुरसत है जब भी चलने की सुविधा हो उन तिथीयों को अभी से मुझे सूचित करदें ताकि उन दिनों कोई काम अपने सिर न लूँ। (२) क्रांति १५-२० दिन पूर्व एक पत्र दी थी और उसके साथ मेरे आपके ‘आगफा’ से निकाले ५ चित्र भी थे – क्या वह पत्र मिला नहीं? This is a PS in which Osho addresses to:

• Shree Parakh Ji - “Received your kind letter. I am very grateful. How nice it would have been that I could come to Rajasthan with you! But I don’t have holidays during those (propsed) days. Colleges get closed from 1 May in Madhya Pradesh hence it won’t be possible to come along, this time. How is your health now? I hope by now you might have returned back home from Madras and must be healthy. Please accept my humble pranam.”
• Chi. Padam - “Your letter was received. I couldn’t even reply and it’s so late now what to reply is not possible to make out. Do not be unhappy and do write letters. I am pleased to know that Ma is relieved of heavy nasal conjuction. I want to scold you really for one thing – it’s OK that Ma didn’t inform about her bad health, but you should have informed me.”
• Ma –

(1) “It’s good what you wrote about Pachmadhi (holidaying). I will get holidays from 1st May. After that May and June are free – inform me the dates on which it’s comfortable to visit, now itself; so that I don’t take up any work on my head during those dates.

(2) Kranti had sent a letter before 15-20 days along with 5 photos of me and you also, taken with AGFA. Didn’t you receive that letter?

(3) Letters of Sheel, Verma Ji and Nahar from Bareli. All recalled you. Rest OK. I will be going to Bomaby on 28th March and returning back on 1 or 2 April.”
