- ‘संत दरिया प्रेम की बात करेंगे। उन्होंने प्रेम से जाना। इसके पहले कि हम उनके वचनों में उतरें...अनूठे वचन हैं ये। और वचन हैं बिलकुल गैर-पढ़े लिखे आदमी के। दरिया को शब्द तो आता ही नहीं था; अति गरीब घर में पैदा हुए—धुनिया थे, मुसलमान थे। लेकिन बचपन से ही एक ही धुन थी कि कैसे प्रभु का रस बरसे, कैसे प्रार्थना पके। बहुत द्वार खटखटाए, न मालूम कितने मौलवियों, न मालूम कितने पंडितों के द्वार पर गए लेकिन सबको छूंछे पाया। वहां बात तो बहुत थी, लेकिन दरिया जो खोज रहे थे, उसका कोई भी पता न था। वहां सिद्धांत बहुत थे, शास्त्र बहुत थे, लेकिन दरिया को शास्त्र और सिद्धांत से कुछ लेना न था। वे तो उन आंखों की तलाश में थे जो परमात्मा की बन गई हों। वे तो उस हृदय की खोज में थे, जिसमें परमात्मा का सागर लहराने लगा हो। वे तो उस आदमी की छाया में बैठना चाहते थे जिसके रोएं-रोएं में प्रेम का झरना बह रहा हो। सो, बहुत द्वार खटखटाए लेकिन खाली हाथ लौटे। पर एक जगह गुरु से मिलन हो ही गया।’ - ओशो
