Neither Dusk Nor Dawn

- These discourses of Osho are not just a commentary on Saint Charandas, they are the testimony of a love affair between two enlightened souls. Why call it a love affair?
- Because Charandas, even though he is no longer in the body, inspires Osho with his poetry and his words of wisdom that he left behind after a life dedicated to spiritual teachings about Bhakti and Yoga. And Osho, on his part, out of his love for the great 18th Century Saint and mystic, magically brings back to life Charandas, so that he can be known to the world for what he is: a unique spiritual master, amongst countless masters who have walked throughout the centuries on India’s beautiful land. And of course, India’s land is blessed because so many rare souls have blessed it with their presence.
- Charandas talks extensively about the master-disciple relationship, and the essence of that relationship is revealed by and by in the book, as Osho’s poetic language takes us into the mysteries and complexities of such relationship. The very substance which makes up the master-disciple relationship is described, not just from a conceptual point of view but from an experiential point of view, in the way only poetic language and expression is capable to convey.
- The two main disciples of Charandas were two women, Sahajo and Dayabai. This shows that Charandas was not only a yogi and a gyani. He was also capable of touching the heart of his disciples who eventually took the final step and became devotees. Sahajo and Dayabai are known for their beautiful devotional poetry.
