Talk:The Message Beyond Words

The notes may say "given during a meditation camp in Mt. Abu," but it looks like some wires were crossed here. Bhaj Govindam was given in late 1975, so a traveling camp anywhere at that time would not be possible, i believe. And now in any case, the bumpf being about Kathopanishad rather than Adi Shankara suggests this book has nothing to do with Bhaj Govindam, or it's a kind of combination with an inadequate description. My bet is on nothing to do with Bhaj Govindam.

Osho did speak on Kathopanishad but date and place is unknown. When found, it will probably be an as yet unlisted camp. Lots of info to be found in Gyan Bhed's and Ageh's books. -- Sarlo (talk) 10:12, 30 December 2013 (PST)

Yes, after looking at both books it's also my conclusion: nothing to do with Bhaj Govindam. The book clearly states "Mt. Abu", also in the intro by Sudha, so that's clear. But when that was it does not say. I was just about to consult Sarlo's pages, but he was faster. --Sugit (talk) 11:04, 30 December 2013 (PST)

Looking at the book and listening to the tapes now, it seems clear that this book is the translation of Kathopanishad (कठोपनिषद). I don't remember, where did Bhaj Govindam come in at all? Anyway, it's clear. Same number of lectures, same text on the Hindi audio, cf. the book.

All discourses are in Hindi, except for four explanations of meditations in English at the end of lectures #1, 2, 3 and 17. These are in the audio and in the book. #1, 2 and 3 are in a separate small chapter, the explanation after #17 is part of the chapter itself.

Chapter 5 is also followed by such a small explanatory chapter: "A Small Morning Meditation", the text of which I could not locate on the audio.

That same small chapter then continues with "Further instructions for the Tratak Mediation, continued from page 119.", which I also could not locate on the audio, and the reference to page 119 is strange, because that page does not have any meditation instructions. "page 114" would fit, so maybe a typo. --Sugit (talk) 19:29, 2 January 2016 (UTC)
