Osho wrote many letters in Hindi to [[Ma Kusum Bharti]] and her husband [[Sw Kapil Bharti|Kapil]], then of Ludhiana. Most were addressed to Kusum, but always mentioning Kapil too. 27 were published in ''[[Prem Ke Swar (प्रेम के स्वर)]]''. Sannyas Wiki has images of all but one of those published in ''PKS'', plus three unpublished ones, plus one in English published in ''[[The Gateless Gate]]''. 

This letter is dated 25th April 1969. It was one of those published in ''[[Prem Ke Swar (प्रेम के स्वर)]]'', as letter #1. The letterhead was a typical one of those days, showing a simple all-lower-case "acharya rajneesh" at "kamala nehru nagar" in "jabalapur (m. p.)", with his 4-digit phone number and a two-colour Jeevan Jagriti Kendra logo.

प्यारी कुसुम,<br>
प्रेम। तुझे पत्र लिखना है,इसकी याद रोज ही आजाती है।

यह तुझे ज्ञात है कि तेरे ह्रदय में परमात्मा की गहरी प्यास है।

तेरी आंखों में उसी प्यास और प्रार्थना के दर्शन मुझे हुये हैं। 

वही तू कहना भी चाहती थी, लेकिन नहीं कह सकी। 

ह्रदय की गहराइयों में जो है उसे शब्द देना सदा ही कठिन है। 

अब जब मिलेगी तो जरूर कह सकेगी। 

नहीं, तो मैं निकाल लूंगा। 

कपाल मोहन को पाकर तू निश्चय ही भाग्यवान है। 

और अब सोनी को पाकर और भी। 

और एक दिन उस प्रभु को भी पानेकी, जिसे पाकर सब पालिया जाता है। 

सोनी के लिए मैंने नाम दिया है : ' असंग ' । 

उसके नाम से तुझे और कपाल को असंग होने का ख़याल बना रहेगा।
