Letter written on 25 Nov 1960

This is one of hundreds of letters Osho wrote to Ma Anandmayee, then known as Madan Kunwar Parakh. It was written on 25th November 1960 on a non-standard "letterhead", apparently a near-blank page from a program put on by a Jain group, the "Sant Taaran Taran Birthday Celebration Committee" in Jabalpur, with some text from their program to the left of Osho's letter. In parentheses under the Committee's name is "Sarv Dharm Sammelan", or All Religions Conference.

As with Letter written on Nov 1960, there is a number (3) in a circle in the top right corner, and a red check mark above Osho's salutation, "प्रिय मां", Priya Maan, Dear Mom. Osho informs in the letter that he will reach in the evening of 5 Dec 1960 at Chanda. Later this plan changed, see Letter written on 29 Nov 1960.

संत तारण तरण जयंती समारोह समिति (सर्व-धर्म-सम्मेलन) जबलपुर दिनांक २५ नवम्बर १९६० प्रिय मां, पद-स्पर्श। आपका प्रीति-पत्र। एक एक शब्द छूता है और आप बहुत निकट अनुभव होती हैं। प्रेम जीवन की सर्वोत्कृष्ट अनुभूति है। उसमें होकर ही हम प्रभु में और सत्य में होपाते हैं। प्रेम द्वार है। ईसा ने तो कहा है : 'प्रेम ही प्रभु है।’ इस प्रेम को विस्तृत करते जाना है – एक से अनेक तक, सांत से अनंत तक, अणु से ब्रह्मांड तक। इस रहस्यमय जगत् का एक एक कण प्रीति-योग्य है। *** 'मिलन में छुपा हुआ विरह दिख रहा है' – ऐसा आपने लिखा है। नहीं, मां, ऐसा नहीं है। प्रेम में विरह है ही नहीं। प्रेम बस मिलन है। शरीर-बोध से यह विरह दीखता है। वह बोध भ्रान्त है और दुख का कारण है। मैं आप में मिल गया हूँ – अब अलग होने को "मैं" कहां हूँ? साधारणत:, मातृत्व मिलता है पुत्र को अपने से अलग करके पर आप मेरी मां बनी हैं मुझे अपने में समा के। मैं आपका हूँ – यह शरीर भी आपका है। इसके प्रति ममता दिखाने में मैं बाधा कैसे बन सकता हूँ? *** *** मैं ५ दिसम्बर की संध्या या रात्रि आपके निकट पहुँच रहा हूँ । इसके पूर्व १ सप्ताह तक संत तारण तरण जयंती समारोह के आयोजनों में व्यस्त रहूँगा – अन्यथा पूर्व भी पहूँच सकता था। ट्रेन बाद में सूचित करूँगा। शेष शुभ। शारदा बहिन को बहुत बहुत स्नेह। सबको मेरे प्रणाम कहें। साथ में संत तारण तरण पर विगत बर्ष हुए एक व्याख्यान का सार-संक्षिप्त भी भेज रहा हूँ। रजनीश के प्रणाम

Partial translation

"I will be reaching in your vicinity in the evening or night of 5th December. Before that, I would be busy for the arrangements of Sant Taaran Taran Jayanti Samaroh (Saint Taaran Taran Birth Anniversary Celebration); for a week – otherwise I could have reached earlier. I will inform about the train later. Rest OK. Lots of love to Sharda Bahin (sister). Convey my pranam to all. Along with this, I am also sending the abstract of the lecture on Saint Taaran Taran which was delivered last year."
