Yatri, born in the UK in 1936, trained as an architect and painter and taught in both fields. He was also a fellow in Visual Communications at the Portsmouth School of Architecture and lectured at various architectural schools in London.
He was commissioned to create a kinetic work at the British Pavilion at Expo 67, Montreal.
His artworks appeared in the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Walker Arts Center, Minneapolis, the Tate Gallery, London, the Glasgow Art Gallery, Scotland, the Foundation Maeght, France and the Kunsthalle, Cologne.


In 1974 he went to the ashram in Poona and became a Sannyasin.
In 1975 Osho put him in charge of the design department, publishing Osho’s books until late 1979.
During that time he created, under Osho’s direction, The Sound of Running Water.
In the Rajneesh Foundation Newsletter his cartoons of the relationship between Master and Disciple regularly appeared. (see link below)
In 1981/2 he joined the commune in Oregon and worked on the sequel to The Sound of Running Water, This Very Place the Lotus Paradise.
Later on he joined the pipe crew, and helped restore the damaged waterways of the Ranch.


In 1986, he and his partner Ma Sat Navyo founded Labyrinth Publishing Ltd in Florence, Italy. Here started the creation and publication of four, and later, five best selling books.


In 1996 Yatri & Navyo founded Moonrunner Design Ltd, UK. During the next 20 years they wrote, designed and illustrated books for various publishers.
Both An Illustrated Brief History of Time and Universe in a Nutshell by Stephen Hawking (Random House) were designed and illustrated by Moonrunner.
Mapping the Mind (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, 1998) and Consciousness (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, 2002) both by Rita Carter, and Grandmere: A Personal History of Eleanor Roosevelt by David B. Roosevelt (Warner Books) were designed and illustrated by Moonrunner.


Moonrunner also created illustrations for books like The Ancestors’ Tale by Richard Dawkins, and for magazines like Scientific American, National Geographic, Discover, Kijk, Welt der Wunder, The New York Times, Mother Jones and others.
