TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

My name is Alejandro Celis H. I’m from CHile. I work there as a psychologist. I've worked as a psychotherapy teacher in the state’s University (Unlversidad de Chile) in the Psychology Department for 8 years. My main interests have been Psychotherapy, Counseling, Group Therapy, Body work, and Eastern Philosophy and Mysticism. I’ve also translated five books on those fields for the Chilean printing firm, Cuatro Vientos Editorial.

On my professional and personal search, Ive studied the work of Carl Rogers, Fritz Perls and many other famous psychologists and psychiatrists. I’ve studied and practiced the Transcendental Meditation technique, body work techniques (Bioenergetics, T’ai Chi, Martial Arts, breathing) and meditation techniques from various sources.

I came across Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’s religious books and lectures and tapes in 1980. I was so full of enthusiam with them that I started translating his book "The Psychology of the Esoteric" into Spanish. The book was published by Cuatro Vientro Editorial (in Chile) in 1981.

Up to then, I had never found such a deep and clear understanding of the human mind - and neither had I seen such clear and effective clues to understanding and transcending human suffering. Parallel to this, it was obvious that he wasn’t only an exceptional psychologist, he was also the most profound and comprehensive spiritual teacher I had ever come across.

Before I read those books and listened to a few taped lectures, I had the intention of writing on humanistic psychology or the spiritual search. My feeling, after coming across Bhagwan’s books, is that all that might be said about psychology or religious teachings that could be of any use to modern man, he has already said.
