This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Mrs. Grethe Friis. It is "Exhibit A-758" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Mrs. Grethe Friis, Author.
64 Eskilsgade, ground floor
1657 Copenhagen V.
Copenhagen, July 19, 1983

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.

I, Grethe Friis, am the author of the following titles: "Lommeuld", "Ildfluedans","Den ensomme mands vilje", "Fru Guds store lygte", "Den lukkede have", "Tankefnug" and "Petit Point". For my work as an author I have received The Award Of The Ministry Of Education and Edith Rode's Mindelegat. Further more I have several times appeared in radio programs and on television.

I have come to know of the religious teacher and spiritual leader Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh through reading his bocks and listening to his taped discourses.

I have been greatly inspired hereby, and I find it of great importance to the survival of humanity and maintainance of global peace that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is allowed to live and work in the U.S.A., as his teachings here have the posibilities to reach a lot of people. Everybody needs inspiration and this man is of such exceptional abilities that any country should be happy to have this man living and working inside its borders.

Yours truely,
[signed]
Grethe Friis.
