This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Anand Vedika (Elaine Dietrich). It is "Exhibit A-430" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To whom it may concern

Not only do I find Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh an exceptional human being on a spiritual level, but I find him an incredible analyst of the human psyche.

I have a B.A. in Psychology and Education from Antioch College, and have worked for years as a therapist and counsellor with disturbed children and adults, as well as normal adults in the growth movement. I always felt a great limitation in the thinking of most modern day psychologists and thinkers as to the workings of the human heart and mind. When I began to read Bhagwan’s religious books and practise some of his meditation and therapy techniques my understanding of myself and the people I struggled to reach over the years took a lateral jump.

I cannot stress enough what an asset Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has been to the field of psychology and education for those who have the courage to explore and experience his vision, for it is a profound and transformative one.

There is no one else in the world today, according to my own quite indepth study, with such a capacity for grasping man in his totality. He goes to the very roots of man’s struggle with existence and in a very playful and intuitive way untangles the mysteries which for some people are so overwhelming that it alters their ability to function at all.

I can clearly state that if I have enjoyed my success in the past five years, working with my own evolution and that of others, I owe it to Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

Yours truly
