This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Anuraga (Julia Reichelt). It is "Exhibit A-1325" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To Whom It May Concern

I would like to mention how important the religious guidance of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh for me and my therapy work with people is.

After my training as a retoucher in a large German newspaper publishing house, I began to study social work in 1972. I completed this in 1975 and since then I work with people from all backgrounds and walks of life. An intense period of primal therapy for myself, my training with the newspaper, and my social work brought me repeatedly to the question: how can one help people in their personal growth, how can one provide them with practical help and advise them so that they can solve their problems, and thereby help them to adjust harmoniously to the society they live in?

Since almost 5 years, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is my religious teacher. He has constantly given me the courage and the ability to help people and he has also helped me to go deeper in my own self development.

I am extremely grateful to him for his guidance and hope he is able to remain in the United States.
