This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Prem Vijaya (Tjipkje Petronella Faber). It is "Exhibit A-1262" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Groningen, July 1983.

To whom it may concern,

I, Tjipkje Petronella Faber, also known as Ma Prem Vijaya, have a degree in Medicine and Developmental Psychology. I went to Highscnool when I was 12 and after this to University when I was 17 years old.

After 6 years of theoretical study in medicine and social psychiatry I decided to get further with developmental psychology because I wanted to work more with children in problem situations.

Through people who were working with psychotherapy I heard 7 years ago about Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and I started to read his books. I was very impressed by his vision, it learned me in various ways to look at things from another point of view as I was used to hear. In my own field of medicine and psychology Bhagwan can be an amazing eyeopener. For example, what he has said about modern disease like cancer and hypertension, may lead to a whole new scientific approach.

Right now I am working at a University Hospital at e research department for neurological development. (I have to write a thesis about the verbal mother-baby interaction). In this field also Bhagwan is bringing something really new, something which places a whole field of scientific research and litterature in a context Which is so broad, that it gives perspectives which would not happen otherwise.

In my opinion and experience Bhagwan will mean a lot to the future scientific world.

The above is witiiin my knowledge and belief, and if called upon I would competently testify thereto.

Yours sincerely,
[signed]
T.P.Faber,
