This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I, the undersigned Odile Bingisser-Pannewitz, am a sociologist, educator and designer, of French nationality. I was born April 26, 1940 in Bône, Algeria, and am presently living in the Gotenstrasse 15, Berlin 62.

I received the Master-degree in Sociology in the University of Marseille-Provence (France) in 1966 and was a government-employed sociologist in an Expansion Programm of the town of Nizza.

Through my marriage with Günther Pannewitz I became three years long actress in the avant-garde company "The Living - Theatre" and toured all over Europe and USA.

I then became an educator in creativity for seven years in West-Berlin, in the Bezirksamt-Zehlendorf.

In the same years I started to design fashion and presented twice a year a collection of fashion to top-boutiques in Berlin. ("Mad" - "Soft" -"Cartouche" etc.)

In 1980 I met Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh through the book of the "Stern"-reporter A. Elten "Ganz Entspannt in Hier und Jetzt" and took part in many groups in the sannyasin-center in Berlin, and was initiated by Bhagwan in 1980.

The contribution of His teaching in the field of Personal Growth is unestimable, and I pray that all authorities will give their cooperation to the furtherance of His work, so we can all benefit from this.

Dated: 17.7.1983
