This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

In this letter I want to state how Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, religious leader of a quarter of a million people all over the world, has inspired me in my field of research and that his vision of people living in peace, harmony and love, has already come into reality -a far away goal for modern therapeutic concepts and psychological theories.

I have been working as a Diplom psychologist in Münich, W-Germany, passed a one year therapeutic training programme there after my studies and gathered practical experience in family therapy, psychiatric counselling and community psychology. Theoretically I was especially interested in psychoanalysis and Gestalttherapy.

I first came into contact with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh through a special kind of meditation he had invented mainly for western people. Meanwhile these meditation forms are known by nearly all therapists and have become a usual part of many individual and group therapeutic programmes.

Bhagwan’s teachings to celebrate life and live life totally became an inspiration for the modern, still only problem-oriented psychology. As he points out therapy is necessary because there is a lack of love in peoples’ lives and relations. In a way, therapy can only function as a mediator to oneself, to one’s own inner love and light - that’s when therapy turns into meditation. That is the reason Rajneesh Therapy is so successful.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’s teachings have been translated in many languages and his books are available in almost all bookstores and libraries, e.g. in MUnich. His teaching of living in harmony with oneself and with each other has already become reality in Rajneeshpuram, Oregon, and in many of the thousands of Rajneesh meditation centers all over the world where people are invited to take part in therapeutic programmes, meditations, and to experience the community living.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is an Enlightened Master, His love and insight in life has already become a new orientation for thousands of people, it is an opportunity for the whole of mankind.

Sincerely,

Ralf Liebermeister
