Two editions are shown. How we get from the first to the second, if there is any connection whatsoever, is not known, but there are a few fossil-footprints. Neeten (see Osho Source Book link at his page, Jabalpur and Bibliography sections) has two entries pertaining to the early part (plus his photograph with its caption):

:Dhyan Kya Hai? (What is meditation?). Jabalpur, 1960-63. 20 pages. English edition 1973.
:What is meditation? By Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. Bombay, Jevan Jagruti Kendra, December 1973. 2nd ed. 58 p. A collection of forty-five immortal letters written by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh to H.H. Ma Veet Sandeh (Alias Dr. Miss Grazia Marchiano), Rome, Italy, President of Neo-Sannyas Int. for Europe. 1st English ed. 1971. 1st Hindi ed. Dhyan kya hai? from Jabalpur 1960-63.
At first, there seems to be little connection between these two tomes. Certainly Sandeh was not around when the original Hindi booklet came out. But there still may be some derivation more than same title usage which further research will establish.
Thirty or so years later we have the Diamond edition. In between it is not difficult to imagine a series of compilations on this inevitable theme. The Diamond edition -- data are variable: 70 and/or 80 pages, and pub dates 2005, 2006 and/or 2008 -- has a nice format for the theme, with "answers" to the question every couple of pages along with pictures of Osho: Meditation Is ... An Experiment; ... A Leap; ... Remembrance; and so on. And fwiw, the G**gle Books peek inside the book feature shows claimed copyright from 1999 for the Hindi and 1995 for the English "original." This peek is also where Gyan Bhed's translation credit is shown.
The abundance of categories grafted onto this book has been intended as inclusive, ie every category that could possibly apply, given one description or another, has been included. -- Sarlo (talk) 10:05, 25 August 2014 (PDT)
