Do you suggest this page to use for reference and do not search specifically the root of the ISBN (like "5-7135-0046-")? I have to finish the search "5-7135-0046-" --DhyanAntar 16:37, 14 February 2017 (UTC) | |||

these numbers have of course never been issued by the Russian Book Chamber which is the ISBN authority in Russia to more than one book.
is it possibele to search for ISBN numbers there ? that way we could find out who the number 5-7135-0046-2 was originally issued to, provided it was actually issued. --Rudra (talk) 00:39, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
searching the Global Register of Publishers shows this:
- Publisher: Kniga
- Country: Russian Federation
- Agency Name: Russia
- ISBN Prefix: 978-5-7135-
- Status: ACTIVE
- Address: Chelyabinsk ul. Posty`sheva, 2
- Admin Contact Name: V.M. Afanasovich
- Admin Phone: 7-(351) 264-98-48
- Admin Fax: 7-(351) 264-98-48
so any other publisher using that prefix is suspect.--Rudra (talk) 00:39, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
searching the Kniga catalog shows that the ISBN number 5-7135-0046-2 is for Сборник буддийских молитв на каждый день--Rudra (talk) 02:03, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
hmmm, looks like Nirvana is only involved in one of the suspect ISBNs (5-7135-0046-9)
Nirvana's details in the Global Registry are:
- Publisher: Soldatov Aleksandr Valentinovich
- Country: Russian Federation
- Agency Name: Russia
- ISBN Prefix: 978-5-94726
- Status: ACTIVE
- Address: Moscow ul. Ae`rodromnaya, d. 12, korp. 1, kv. 16
- Admin Contact Name: A.V. Soldatov
- Admin Phone: 7-(495) 492-57-92
- Admin Email: osho@inbox.ru.
i did send Prayas an email to this address, but had no response.
i am starting to suspect that the problem we see is two fold:
- some publishers are using fake numbers for god knows what insane reason
- and the ISBN numbers we see in online shops are there due to some serious database corruptions in the shop catalogs

forgot to mention - let's just list Osho books with suspect numbers here. there might be thousands of fake ISBNs in the Russian book scene, but we don't have to deal with them all. ;) --Rudra (talk) 16:17, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
