इस पुस्तक का पहला प्रश्न ‘लोभ’ से शुरू होता है जिसके उत्तर में ओशो कहते हैं कि साधना के मार्ग पर ‘लोभ’ जैसे शब्द का प्रवेश ही वर्जित है क्योंकि यहीं पर बुनियादी भूल होने का डर है।
फिर तनाव की परिभाषा करते हुए ओशो कहते हैं : सब तनाव गहरे में कहीं पहुंचने का तनाव है और जिस वक्त आपने कहा, कहीं नहीं जाना तो मन के ‍अस्तित्व की सारी आधारशिला हट गई।
फिर क्रोध, भीतर के खालीपन, भय इत्यादी विषयों पर चर्चा करते हुए ओशो प्रेम व सरलता—इन दो गुणों के अर्जन में ही जीवन की सार्थकता बताते हैं।
