- बाबा मलूकदास—यह नाम ही मेरा हृदय-वीणा को झंकृत कर जाता है। जैसे अचानक वसंत आ जाय! जैसे हजारों फूल अचानक झर जायं! नानक से मैं प्रभावित हूं; कबीर से चकित हूं; बाबा मलूकदास से मस्त। ऐसे शराब में डूबे हुए वचन किसी और दूसरे संत के नहीं हैं। नानक में धर्म का सारसूत्र है, पर रूखा-सूखा। कबीर में अधर्म को चैनौती है—बड़ी क्रांतिकारी, बड़ी विद्रोही। मलूक में धर्म की मस्ती है; धर्म का परमहंस रूप; धर्म को जिसने पीया है, वह कैसा होगा। न तो धर्म के सारतत्व को कहने की बहुत चिंता है, न अधर्म से लड़ने का कोई आग्रह है। धर्म की शराब जिसने पी है, उसके जीवन में कैसी मस्ती की तरंग होगी, उस तरंग से कैसे गीत फूट पड़ेंगे, उस तरंग से कैसे फूल झरेंगे, वैसे सरल अलमस्त फकीर का दिग्दर्शन होगा मलूक में।
