Kathopanishad (कठोपनिषद)

ध्यान साधना शिविर, माउंट आबू में हुई प्रवचनमाला के अंतर्गत ओशो द्वारा नचिकेता यमराज के अनूठे संवाद कठोपनिषद पर दिए गए सत्रह प्रवचन।

'मृत्यु, जिसे हम जीवन का अंत समझते हैं, उसी की चर्चा से प्रारंभ होता है यह कठोपनिषद। एक छोटे से बच्चे नचिकेता के निर्मल ‍‍हृदय की व्यथा जो क्रुद्ध पिता ‍के वचनों को स्वीकार करता है और अपने संकल्प के कारण मृत्यु से भी तीन वर अर्जित कर लेता है। एक प्रतीक के रूप में यह कथा प्रत्येक मनुष्य के सौभाग्य की कथा है जिसे ओशो ने अग्नि-विद्या के रूप में ‍हमें दिया है। ओशो कहते हैः ‘यम ने जो नचिकेता को कहा था, वही मैंने आपको कहा है। नचिकेता को जो हुआ, वही आपको भी हो सकता है। लेकिन आपको कुछ करना पड़ेगा, मात्र सुनकर नहीं, उसे जीकर। जो सुना है, उस दिशा में थोड़े प्रयास, थोड़े प्रयत्न, थोड़े कदम उठाकर। बस बैठ न जाएं, सोचने न लगें। जितना हम सोचने में समय गंवाते हैं, उतना प्रयास करने में लगा दें, उतना ध्यान बन जाए, तो मंजिल दूर नहीं है।’
