Medina Rajneesh was started by Ma Anand Poonam on September 21, 1981. It was situated in a large Grade II listed mock-Tudor manor on more than 13 acres of landscaped grounds located close to the hamlet of Herringswell near Newmarket, Suffolk. More than 200 people lived and worked here until it was closed in 1984.
