Sw Anand Siddhartha (German artist)

Born Jan 2, 1936 as Werner Gartung in Vechelde near Braunschweig; died May 13, 2012 in Zschachenmühle.
He was a German Avantgarde painter, musician and conceptual artist. In the 1960ies he was an important representative of the Critical Realism, Pop-Art, Conceptual-Art and Fluxus.
He established three large communes in Germany, the Rajneesh Purvodaya Ashram, Margaretenried, the Rajneeshstadt, Meinhard and OshoStadt, Zschachenmühle where he spent the last years of his life.
