This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. It seems appropriate to our time that with the growing interest of peaceful and conscious people in the teachings of Bhagwan mass medias, politicians and other institutions are attacking him more and more. With this letter I beg all those people to stop their attacks, all those who did not yet learn to handle others holding different beliefs without slander and falseness. We are living in the year 1983 and not 1483. This cannot be the progress all are talking about. Bhagwan is one of the few teachers of mankind who serves to the positive consciousness of mankind. This letter speaks for all people in this world who are prosecuted, tortured, murdered, imprisoned or expulsed for their beliefs.
