This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Donald G. Miller. It is "Exhibit A-1243" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

My name is Donald G. Miller. I have held a teaching position in a Community College for the past ten years. Prior to my teaching career I was a Supervising Counselor for Orange County Probation Department for ten years. In addition to teaching, I am a Marriage Family Therapist in the State of California. I hold a Masters of Science Degree and the proper teaching credentials and license to teach psychology, communication, social sciences as well as counsel children, adults and families.

I am familiar with the writings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. I have personally been moved and brought to new spiritual and intellectual awareness through the study of his works. I have come in contact with individuals that have thought and felt his teachings have lifted them to new spiritual and intellectual heights and in doing so they have come to live productive and healthy lives.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is truly a teacher among teachers as well as a great spiritual leader. His personal presence and his writings will be of great continued value to those in contact with him.

"Sometimes it seems to me that He heard the murmuring pain of all things that grow in the sun, and that then He lifted them up and supported them, not only by His own knowledge, but also by disclosing to them their own power to rise and become whole."
Kahlil Gibran
