This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Mrs. E. P. Nestmann. It is "Exhibit A-380" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

In 1970 I qualified as a physiotherapist. Since that time I have been practising in South Africa, England and Canada. I am a member of the South African and Canadian Physiotherapy Associations, and am specialised in the treatment of orthopaedic conditions, back and neck pain, chronic pain and gerontology.

In 1974 I read several of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’s religious books. I was so impressed by his vision and teachings that I travelled to India to meet him.

Prior to my visit to Bhagwan I was professionally competent -but on my return I found my work transformed by His profound and extraordinary teachings on the art of healing.

His knowledge and teachings in the areas of preventative medicine, stress reduction, treatment of acute and chronic pain, gerontology and the art of dying are of exceptional importance and can be of infinite benefit to the medical profession and their patients.

His emphasis on the merging of the knowledge of science and the art of healing through love, for true healing to happen, the medical profession in this day and age cannot afford to ignore.

Many of my colleagues - doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychotherapists, dentists who have been exposed to Bhagwan’s teachings and who are practising in various countries throughout the world, have found similar benefit for themselves and for their patients, in their practising of healing through Bhagwan’s brilliant and outstanding teachings.

It is in my opinion that there is no other being who has more to offer us than Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.
