This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Elin Hansen. It is "Exhibit A-1383" in the Noles collection.

About Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, Oregon

In 1979 I went to Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh' Ashram and University, Poona, India for 3 month. I went there to participate in his educational program designed for professionals and students in the fields of psychiatry, psychology, anthropology, religion, and philosofy.

Every day Bhagwan teached people in exploring theoretically and practically the great spiritual traditions of the East (Zen Buddhism, tantric sciense, art and ritual, sufism etc.) and their relationship to Western science.

Speciel attention Bhagwan shree Rajneesh has paid - in his discourse - similarities and differences between mysticism and psychosis and to the problems related to evolution of consciousness. This has been very useful for me in my work with psychotic people.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is a Great Spiritual Master of the East who give new frontiers of Western Science.

He is a researcher who has contributed to the emerging paradigm and revolutionary developments in quantum-relativistic physics, brain research and modern consciousness studies which point to a future synthesis of science and mysticism.

Yours sincerely
