This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Dr. Imoszka Ines Prehm. It is "Exhibit A-770" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To whom it may concern.

I’m a journalist and since 1979 I have been a practising psychologist, writing articles on social political issues in various newspapers, magazines and books at the same time.

First having studied chemistry, later I changed to german language and psychology in Hamburg and Giessen.

The meditations and books of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh helped me to gain more clarity and increased my capacities to give the "touch-for-healing" treatment to people feeling pain, both physically and mentally.

I feel Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh opened up new dimensions of my understanding of the nature of the humane, widening the range of possibilities to approach the other. There is no doubt that Bhagwan proves every day that he is an outstanding spiritual leader whose influence is felt worldwide. In my very first personal contact with him I learnt that one of the most important things in life is to see with the heart and not only with the eyes. This has affected my work in the past and will do so in the future. Hence I feel great commitment and gratitude towards him and his teachings.
