This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Dr. K. L. Ved. It is "Exhibit A-1380" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Dear Sir,

While I was trying to study the major scriptures of the world in my search for the ultimate reality (Truth, god) a medical colleague of mine, Dr. Gokani (a sannyasi disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) introduced me to the books and recorded cassettes of the lecture discourses of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. From these, not only I got all the information but the spiritual seeker in me found all the practical guidance and extremely subtle hints which only an earnest seeker can appreciate and can only come "through" and enlightened person who is dexterous of imparting these. The seeker in me experiences oneness with vibrations of spoken and written words.

Though I have never met nor seen Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh in person nor am I a disciple or follower of his I have always wondered how blissful it would be to be in his presence and to imbibe the subtle vibrations.

For Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh I do not think it matters where he lives but may be his closer disciples are trying to keep him near them so as to create a Buddha field and also keep the "vibrations" in one place as to enable the visiting (non resident) disciples to experience these.

From the lecture discourses I have found that all the religious of the world are "perfect" and like rivers are rushing to merge in the same eternal ocean. All the godmen and the "seers" and "sages" of the different scriptures say the same thing on a different background and this shows the catholicoty of the vision which can be an experience of an enlightened person only. By the clarity of the expression and information makes one feel that this can come only through a spiritual master (guru).

I was approached by a disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh to write about my views on him from the books and cassette recordings as I was told that the disciples in the U.S.A. wish to have their master (guru)lives with them in the U.S.A. and this is the reason I have written this letter.

Yours faithfully,
