This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

Copenhagen, Denmark
July 20, 1983

to whom it may concern:

I, Kristian Vilthoft, Liujagersgade 18, DK 2100 Copenhagen, Denmark, am a school teacher I graduated in February 1975 from Stattseminarie pa Eudrupborg (State Teacher's College) in Copenhagen. Since then I have worked in various fields connected with children and education: a year and a half in a kindergarten, a year in a creche and from December 1978 I was employed as a teacher by the Municipal of Copenhagen.

In 1981 I got in touch with the teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh - through audiotapes of His discourses and through personal contact with His sannyasins. I began reading His books and (?) was a revelation to read what Bhagwan has said on education. He has an insight into human psychology that far surpasses what I have met any other place - either during my education or later.

To me, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is an obviously outstanding personality who has demonstrated his extraordinary calibre through his numerous books and discourses. Any country should be proud to welcome Him, not only as a visitor, but as a resident.

For me personally, the meeting with Bhagwan has been very influential. I have become a sannyasin and I have used the possibility to be with Bhagwan in silence, at both the First and the Second Annual World Celebration.

Yours,
