Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

To whom it may concern

Since october 1980 I'm a disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. In the course of these years I have realized the emminent philosophical importance of his teachings.

During my studies of Philosophy, History, Sociology and Mathematics I worked in the field of psychiatry and spezialized on the problem of schiizophrenic patients. My thesis for a PHD in Philosophy was an inquiery about the different theoretical attempts to solve the problems of schizophrenia. Meanwhile I was lecturing in Philosophy and realized the difficulties to teach this disciplin without indoctrinating the students.

At the time I'm writing a book about the European philosophical and historical background of the work of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. My concern is to make people realize that the teaching are not only an outspring of a typical Indian tradition but mainly something, in which most of the European philosophers were concerned in.

The philosophical tradition of Epikur, Heraklit, Plato, Spinoza, Kant, Nietzsche and Wittgenstein leads to teaching of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

It always was of emminent philosophical importance to free people from strong dogmatic systems in the field of religion and politics. And attemps in this field always caused a lot of problems because people hate to be disturbed in their metaphysical slumber. Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh never adopted the maxime of Spinoza to be very careful with what you say. Especially German Philosophers like Marx, Nietzsche and Jaspers learned, that philosophical thinking can lead to very bad problems. It would'nt be wise to follow the wide tradition of condemning and prosecuting philosophers who are concerned to free people from dogmatic systems.

Yours sincerely
