This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Amitabha**. It is "Exhibit A-2692" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To whom it may concern,

coming back from Oregon, we’ve found ourselves in an absolutely new situation. Our Center (Annapurna RMC, Frankfurt) had to be closed and sold because of uneffectiveness. And we had to put all our energies into the FAR OUT RAJNEESH DISCO/BISTRO to cristallize a new focus of Sannyas-activities for ourselves.

Filled up with love and jokes and stories and the desire to jump on the new playground, we also felt a responsibility to clean the old 'football'-field to create a new Buddhafield more attractive for our newcomers and a clearly defined activityspace for the rest of the "old" family members.

Discussion about "What do you want to do right now?" requested more selfawareness, meditation and understanding then ever before. Any time we felt disconnected or distracted we did Gacchamis to come into contact with Bhagwan and the greater Buddhafield.

There is love available at any time, in any place, in any case and doing the Gacchamis is cleaning and refreshening of body, spirit and soul.

Problems dissolve and we can look into each others faces again.

Back to the day-to-day disco-life we experienced the new line as actors, more playful, able to take a risk and accepting responsibility as a part of religous activities.

This Buddhafield, we are a part of it; might be one of the smallest cells.

It is not only the smell, but the taste, the feeling of a greater vision.

The work and the fun, the tool and the toy - make us pray.

Yes, it is religious.

Thank you for your presence, Bhagwan.

Love,
