This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Antar Darsho (Mrs. Gerdien Christie Hazewinkel). It is "Exhibit A-2479" in the Noles collection.

The original letter was handwritten. The image below links to a pdf file of the original letter. It has 2 pages.

This is a rare handwritten letter which has neat enough handwriting for the OCR to work, so it has been transcribed. It suffers somewhat from an off-center photocopy, so a few words are cut off on the right. Those cut-off words have been guessed / restored by the wiki in [square brackets].

To whom it may concern,

I'm nearly 3 months sannyasin and I'[ve] never seen iBhagwan. I lived 5 months in a sannyasincommune and I felt more and more a commitment to Bhagwan. Living in a sannyasincom[mune] is living with Bhagwan.

Learning to share my feeling, emoti[on] and my love with others. Coming to myself, coming in harmony. Giving and receiving.

What he teaches I read it in bo[ooks] hear it from tapes, see it on video To practicise his words and wisdom is a long process of becoming aw[are] I can still learn a lot from him a[nd] I want to see him, be near with [him] next summer with the festival. Bhagwan has a great energy th[at] goes even over the oceans to sannyasins in other countries.

Bhagwan is a great master for me and I'm his diciple.

Love
Ma Antar Darsho
